Emily is a Master’s level trained therapist (MSW, RSW) who has worked in the field of mental health for over 10 years. Prior to that she worked in Developmental Services and Case Management. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers and is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Wrokers.
Emily’s approach is collaborative, compassionate, and interactive. She works with teens (16 years +) and adults to find more effective ways of dealing with the stressors they are facing.
Emily is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and approaches her work from an attachment lens. Emily has extensive experience and interest in helping those recovering from trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, and stress.
Emily is a Certified Facilitator of Circle of Security Parenting (c). She provides individual and group education to parents to help them better understand their children’s behaviour and find more supportive responses.
